Description

Participants who complete this training will understand the main changes to condominium insurance brought about by amendments to the Civil Code. They will also learn about and be able to apply the principles developed in the Compagnie d’assurances Missisquoi v. Aviva Canada inc. ruling (2018 QCCS 2760), including how to apply them to claims incurred before the legislative changes came into force.  

 

Specific objectives

  • Study the main changes to the Civil Code of Québec resulting from Bill 141 
  • Understand the impact of these changes on condominium insurance
  • Analyse the impact of the Compagnie d’assurances Missisquoi v. Aviva Canada inc. ruling (2018 QCCS 2760) on condominium insurance
