Description

When handling a loss, the claims adjuster must exercise diligence when collecting, communicating, or storing personal information.

Which laws and regulations must they comply with? At what stage of the claims settlement process is consent for the use of personal information required?

The training Claims and Protection of Personal Information: Proper Use of the Consent Form (1 PDU in Compliance ) was designed to support claims adjusters in this regard. The course, presented by Victor Kovak, enables learners to achieve these four learning objectives:

  1. Identify the applicable laws.
  2. Define what constitutes personal information.
  3. Understand the purpose of the form for obtaining valid consent.
  4. Understand why it is important to annotate the client file.

In 60 minutes, claims adjusters will learn key concepts such as the limits of collecting personal information, the necessity criterion, the characteristics of valid consent, and their role as guardians of their clients’ personal information.
