Special brokerage involves offering the public products from insurers that are not licensed in Quebec. This type of brokerage must comply with certain obligations set forth in the Act respecting the distribution of financial products and services and the Regulation respecting special brokerage in damage insurance.

Please note:

• Only the representative, and not the firm, may be authorized to act as a special broker.
• To be a special broker, one must be authorized to act in that capacity by the Autorité des marchés financiers (the Authority).
• Special brokerage is not permitted in auto insurance.
